Lavinia is a band from Boston that makes a cryptic style of alternative rock that's heavily influenced by experimental music. The group released its debut EP in 2010 and many of the songs off that release are resounding tunes with a strong sentiment of doom and sinister foreboding. But despite all the maleficent tones, there are defined undercurrents of hope in many of the songs that let listeners know that there is always something to look forward to, regardless of the circumstances. Comprised of four musicians, who all have respected pasts playing in various bands based out of the New England region, Lavinia is an outlet for these talented instrumentalists to display their impressive prowess and their inherent knack for writing.
