Spanish singer Antonio José Sánchez Mazuecos, known professionally as Antonio José, has been in the business since 2005. A native of Palma del Rio, Córdoba, he split his time between football and music, as per his parents' wishes. Encouraged by his mother to pursue music, he took up singing lessons as a child. His first foray into the world of music happened at the age of ten when he participated and placed second in the TV show Veo, Veo. He went on to represent Spain at the prestigious Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2005. His rendition of the song "Te traigo flores -" a tribute to his beloved grandmother - helped him win the second position with 146 points. He made his professional debut the same year with the album Te traigo flores, which failed to make a mark in the market. Following the failure of his debut, José went back to performing live at various shows. He returned to TV screens ten years later, as a participant on the third season of the reality talent show La Voz and emerged victorious. Universal Music Group soon signed a deal with him and his major-label debut El viaje was released later that year to great commercial success. In 2016, José released the single "Contigo" as a precursor to his second album Senti2. He followed up the success of his previous albums with the release of A un milímetro de ti and Antídoto in 2017 and 2019 respectively. March 2020 saw the issue of "Antídoto -" his first release of the year.
