Silje Nes

Silje Nes is a Berlin-based musician who grew up in dense fjord-country in Norway. The sweeping valleys and jagged cliffs of her homeland undoubtedly effected Nes' outlook on sonic composition because the music she creates is sparse and atmospheric ambient folk. She first began making music in 2001 and after receiving some attention, released her debut album in 2005. With songs comprised of collages of sounds and Nes' hauntingly beautiful voice, the album managed to find a home with several attuned listeners of interesting music and Nes has since proven to be an interesting fixture of the multifaceted modern music scene.
