The seven members of Texas sludge rock band When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth had been kicking around Austin's music scene for years, playing in a litany of bands too numerous to list. When they all get together they produce the sort of gargantuan wall of noise that's nearly impossible to fully comprehend. The band's multi-drummer assault takes intensely fuzzed-out riffs and hammers them ad infinitum and the effect would be positively psychedelic if it wasn't so concerned with being relentlessly brutal.
