ELEW is the stage name for famed concert jazz pianist Eric Lewis of Camden, New Jersey, whose transition into the popular music spotlight has caused a resurgence of interest in the potential of rock music in jazz piano. By combining the various elements that make up ragtime, rock, pop and jazz, ELEW was able to hit upon a winning solo-instrumental style of music that he would label as "Rockjazz."
