Slapping Purses is the stage name of Jason Power, a noise-hop/dance musician from Minneapolis, Minnesota whose experimentally bizarre approach to dance music has many scratching their heads while uncontrollably moving their bodies to his infectious beats. From mechanical glitches and beeps from Casio keyboards to crude, over-amped walls of sound, Slapping Purses seems to have hit upon a sweet spot when it comes to synthesizing experimental noise with the dance-friendly tenets of hip-hop and dance music.
