Daughters of the Sun

Minneapolis-based indie project, Daughters of the Sun, plays an experimental and psychedelic form of rock music. Clearly inspired by the long, druggy jams of 60s and 70s psych-rock groups, the band combines hard rock, meandering guitar solos and repetitive, hypnotic drums and percussion to form its woozy tunes. The four-piece is cryptic in its image, disregarding its members real identities and instead operating under tweaked plays on the names of notable controversial figures like Charles Manson, L. Ron Hubbard and Jim Jones. Visions of the Ocean Head, Daughters of the Sun's debut LP, was released in 2007.
