Sandkerwa is an annual festival held in the town of Bamberg, which is located in Upper Franconia, Bavaria. Since 1950, Sandkerwa has celebrated the fishing culture of the local region with good food, music, and antique fishing boats. Over the years the festival has grown, and now expects about 300,000 visitors every year. One main attraction is the variety of traditional breweries which set up stands throughout the city, and the locally famous smoked beer which comes from the Bamberg area.
