This festival is one of Britain's largest free family events. More than 80,000 people attend it each year. The festival is always headlined by nationally known acts; past guests have included Kasabian and The Human League. Godiva also supports the local scene by giving artists the opportunity to perform on its Micro-acoustic stages as well as organizing a competition for unsigned acts. The final takes place on the Friday night of the event in the Rhythm Tent, and the winner opens the Main Stage show on Saturday. The festival's permanent home is the War Memorial Park.
