Hailing from the small, Caribbean island of Barbados, it's inevitable that any band from the area would have at least a subtle island influence in their music no matter what genre they're playing in, and the alt-rock band Kite is no exception. Kite makes very broad, radio friendly alternative pop that has enough reggae and ska influences to keep things interesting. After receiving an honorable mention at the Billboard World Songwriting Contest in 2003, the band released their debut record, Up In The Air, the following year and have only been growing in popularity ever since.
