In the decades since its inception, the Innsbruck Festival has developed into one of Europe's most popular festivals of ancient music and attracts visitors from all over the globe. The festival concentrates on compositions from the 14-18th Centuries and often features ensembles playing original baroque instruments like fiddles, harps and flutes. The July concerts traditionally take place at the stunning renaissance Ambras Palace and operas are performed at the Landestheater. Highlights from years past have included such delights as Handel's Rinaldo and chamber music by the Palladian Ensemble.
