Located just 31 miles south of Vail at an amazing two miles above sea level, this mining town celebrates its Old West past with a three day bash. This event is so true to its heritage that it is noted by the U.S. Library of Congress as a National Local Legacy. The main events include a gun show, a parade, mining contests, including hand mucking, and the popular 21-mile International Pack Burro Race. There are also kids games, vendors, roaming characters dressed in period costumes, and even an outhouse race. All events are free to the viewing public.
Please note that Leadville Boom Days is a No Dog event.
