Born Kenny Anderson in Fife, Scotland, King Creosote is nothing if not wildly prolific. Anderson, formerly of the UK band Skuobhie Dubh Orchestra, has released dozens of recordings on his own Fence Records label, as well as on other independent labels, since beginning the King Creosote project in 1998. Rooted in the traditional Scottish folk music of his North Sea hometown, King Creosote's music is largely focused around his gift for poetry, made poppy by his strong ear for melody.
