Black Stone Cherry is a rock band from Edmonton, Kentucky that was formed in 2001 by lead vocalist/guitarist Chris Robertson, lead guitarist Bed Wells, bassist John Lawhon and drummer John Fred Young. Young connected the band with the same practice space used by his father's band the Kentucky Headhunters. Known as the Practice House, Black Stone Cherry began to practice non-stop and record its characteristic style of hard rocking material. The band released its self-titled debut album in 2006 and embarked on a tour of Europe soon after. In 2009, the band released its second studio album, Folklore and Superstition, before joining Nickelback on tour. Black Stone Cherry released its third album, Between the Devil and the Deep blue Sea, in 2011.
