Best known as front man for UK group Idlewild, Roddy Woomble began releasing solo work in 2006. Based out of Edinburgh, but having spent time living in England, the US and France, Woomble demonstrates a worldly view of music. While his solo work generally falls under the folk-rock category, it occasionally incorporates elements of country, pop and easy-listening jazz. The Scottish singer/songwriter's primary focus, however, is on his lyrics, which focus on man's relationship with nature and the world's rapid modernization.
