Local pilgrimages and festivals take place all over the province (each village has its own) throughout summer. Among these, the most important is the Pilgrimage in May-June to celebrate spring. The Brotherhoods of almost all Andalusia set out on their way in processions from their respective churches. Usually celebrated on the Sunday and Monday of Pentecost, in honour of Virgin Mary, called The White Dove by devoted believers. This image of worship is found in the hermitage of the same name in the village of Almonte in Huelva. The statue of the Virgin Mary is carried there on the shoulders of the pilgrims.
