The 11th President of United States, James K. Polk stayed at this house until 1819. A well-maintained, historic gem, the house is now converted into a museum where tours are provided all year round. Surrounded by a pristine garden, the two-story structure is an epitome of classic Federal architecture. The main house lets visitors explore James K. Polk's memorabilia including his clothing. Original furnishings as well as artistic displays of old paintings are still very much a part of the house. President James K. Polk Home & Museum also houses the Polk Presidential Hall and reconstruction of the original kitchen.
