TOURIST ATTRACTIONS & SIGHTSEEING, PRACTICAL INFORMATION
The single-aisled brick building from the second half of the 15th century was built as a prayer house for the Siechenhaus. The chapel was named after Gertrud von Nivelles, the patron saint of pilgrims. Inside, the late medieval frescoes are worth seeing. The associated cemetery was also created for the Siechenhaus and became the city's central cemetery in the 18th century. There are thousands of graves there, including the dignified mausoleum and the grave of the graphic artist Horst Jannsen.
