Brangwyn Hall is one of the major concert halls of Wales and home to the famous Brangwyn Panels. Painted by Frank Brangwyn in the 1920s, the panels were commissioned for the House of Lords but turned down as being more suitable for a night club. They depict different parts of the then British empire, showing scenes of happy colonized people harvesting luscious fruits and vegetables. The hall hosts a regular program of classical concerts throughout the year, including visits by the National Orchestra of Wales. The annual Swansea Festival of Music and the Arts in October is conducted here, attracting top orchestras and soloists from around the world. Opening times for the hall, located at the southern end of the Guildhall, depend on performances.
