Trem do Corcovado

Established in 1884, Trem do Corcovado was one of the earliest rail systems in the city built to navigate the Corcovado. While it began as a steam-driven locomotive, it was modernized in the early 20th Century and switched to electrical power. Today, the rail traverses a breathtaking route that goes through the Atlantic forest to reach the summit of Corcovado, on which stands the breathtaking Christ the Redeemer Statue.
