Santa Luzia is a small fishing village known mainly for the octopuses captured by its fisherman. Visitors can stop by at the harbor to gaze at the colorful boats setting sail on the turquoise-blue waters of the Ria Formasa Lagoon, visit Praia da Terra Estreita which is a scenic beach accessible only via ferry, or simply walk through the quaint streets and absorb the sights and smells of this alluring village. Considered the Octopus Capital, it would be a sin to leave this city without relishing a few octopus dishes cooked traditional style.
