The one-man band Xavier Rudd is a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Australia who creates a blend of folk, blues and reggae music. Looking like a cross between a mountain man and a surfer, he emerged onto the music scene in 2002 with his rootsy sound and lyrics centered around social consciousness, environmental issues and Aboriginal rights. A favorite at music festivals around the world, Rudd often appears on stage surrounded by a cluster of instruments including an acoustic guitar, a lap steel guitar, a banjo and several yidakis.
