Chubby Checker

South Carolina-born, Philadelphia-raised Chubby Checker is one of American R&B's greatest artists. Known for his 1960 inimitable hit and its accompanying dance "The Twist," Checker immediately became a fixture of American musical history. Checker has continued to record and tour frequently into his older age, even promoting his own brand of steak and beef jerky. "The Twist" remains the Billboard's biggest chart hit of all time.
