Elle Macho is a power trio comprised of Butterfly Boucher (bass/vocals), David Mean (guitar/vocals) and Lindsay Jamieson (drums). Based out of Nashville, Tennessee, the band plays a short, compact form of indie rock that is inspired by both pop punk and the jittery rhythms of 1990s post-punk. Boucher and Mean trade vocal lines with interesting male/female harmonies, rarely operating outside the comfy confines of verse/chorus/verse structures. The group aims to convey a sense of fun to its listeners, as its songs always strive for catchy, riff-based choruses and sometimes quirky arrangements. Since its inception, Elle Macho's sound has garnered it comparisons to notable names such as Supergrass and the Buzzcocks.
