The youngest of seven children, Young Hines was allegedly born in Georgia without his parents knowing what to name him. After a nurse wrote on his patient information form "Young Mr. Hines," his parents decided that was fitting and named him Young Hines. Years later, Hines moved to Chicago and began writing demos. After Brendan Benson, best known as a member of The Raconteurs, heard these demos through a mutual friend, Benson invited Hines to sign to his newly formed label and tour with The Raconteurs. The singer/songwriter's breed of indie Southern Rock went over well with audiences and Hines has been busy touring and recording ever since.
