Hind Ear is a British indie rock outfit that aims to combine its melodic and experimental tendencies into a tight, cohesive whole. The Brighton four-piece uses snaky electric guitar lines as a base to drop layers of poly-rhythms, warm keyboard lines and effects pedals to create a busy and varied combination of sounds that is held together by the group's knack for strong vocal melodies. At times, the synthesizer loops and shifty rhythms can lend Hind Ear a discernible dance rock guise. More appropriate touchstones of what the band seems to be after, however, would be the experimental rock and pop of groups such as Grizzly Bear and Animal Collective. The band continues to play regularly throughout the UK, occasionally branching out for festival appearances in Western Europe.
