Taking its name from the Berinetta sports car and the alleged aversion to these vehicles that the band's founder has, Berlinetta is a five-piece band based out of Madrid. The group formed in 2007, slowly adding members and honing its sound until 2009, when it had accumulated enough members and developed its style of music to the extent where it could release a debut EP. Calling its music "post hardcore pop," but essentially creating music that can comfortably fit in the garage rock category, Berlinetta chose to sing in English, rather than its native tongue, in hopes to attract a more diverse fan base.
