The Romany Rye

Long Beach, California band The Romany Rye takes cues from their southern neighbors to the east, fusing their own brand of West Coast folk with Southern rock styles. Still a young band, 2009 proved to be a particularly auspicious year when the band was chosen as a nominee to be on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine's "Do You Wanna Be A Rock & Roll Star?" contest. Since then the band has gone on to be showcased at the SXSW Festival, playing shows around the Southwest and at home in California.
