East 17 is a boy band that rose to fame in the UK during the 1990s. With an edgier style than most bubblegum pop groups, the band utilized politically-driven lyrics and hip-hop influences that other rival boy bands wouldn't dare try. Scoring number one singles like "Stay Another Day," off of the 1994 LP Steam, and "If You Ever" from 1996's Up All Night, the group solidified itself as a preeminent force of Europop. Though its undergone various lineup changes since its formation in 1991, East 17 continues to release dance pop records like 2012's Dark Light.
