Maxwell

Gerald Maxwell Rivera, more commonly referred to as simply "Maxwell", is an R&B Soul artist who primarily spearheaded the soul sub-genre, Neo-Soul, in the late 1990s. Born in Brooklyn in 1973, Maxwell was initially influenced by the early-1980s R&B artists, particularly Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye. His urban sound has morphed throughout his career and encompasses an element of funk in its soul base.
