Emerging from the traditional homeland of the vikings in Trondheim, Norway, Keep of Kalessin is a band that blends together elements of black metal and extreme progressive rock to create a unique style of music that's well suited for Scandinavia's multifaceted music scene. Formed in 1993, the group took its name from Ursula K. Le Guin's fantasy Earthsea series, wherein there is a dragon named Kalessin that is the bearer of the Earthsea world.
