Lit is a four-piece alternative rock group that's experimented with flourishes of metal and pop punk leanings. Based in Fullerton, CA the group introduced itself in 1997 with the release of its debut album Tripping the Light Fantastic. The band rose to attention after the 1999 release of its sophomore LP, A Place in the Sun, which spawned its best-known hit single, "My Own Worst Enemy." The song catapulted the group to the forefront of the underground pop punk scene, and any true fan of the genre will attest to its importance. Moving away from pop punk and more into alternative rock, Lit continues to release records such as 2012's The View from the Bottom.
