Survivor is a hard rock band from Chicago that was initially active between 1978 and 1989 before reforming in 1993. With an intensive arena rock sound, the band resonated well with audiences in the 1980s, particularly its 1982 hit "Eye of the Tiger." The band continued to release hits throughout the decade such as "I Can't Hold Back" and "High On You," leaving another mark on both music and film with the track "The Moment of Truth," widely known as the theme song for the classic 1984 film, The Karate Kid. After the band's seventh studio album, Too Hot to Sleep, failed to make a commercial impact in 1988, Survivor disbanded, only to reformed in the 1990s for a greatest hits album and an inevitable comeback record, 2006's Reach.
