Taj Mahal Trio

The Taj Mahal Trio is a blues ensemble formed and led by legendary modern blues man Taj Mahal. Though he began his career in the early 1960s with a straightforward American blues sound, he steadily incorporated elements of world music, from African to European and Caribbean to Pacific Island influences, creating a jazz and soul-infused blues sound with a global perspective. Drummer Kester Smith and bassist Bill Rich make up the rest of the trio.
