Comprised of producers Mark Pritchard and Tom Middleton, Global Communication is a UK-based electronic duo that formed in 1992. Thanks in large part to its classic 1994 LP 76:14. the production team is widely-considered to be one of the most influential partnerships to come out of the early stages of downtempo, ambient techno and chill out music in the UK. Pritchard and Middleton specialize in soundscapes full of layer after layer of sonic depth that are probably more effective on a nice pair of headphones than they are on the dance-floor. The duo's hypnotic, head-in-the-clouds style has been likened to the early work of Air, another electronic duo known to utilize warm keys and washes of analog synthesizers. Global Communication remains highly active these days, releasing DJ mixes, collaborating with the likes of IDM prodigy Aphex Twin and performing at popular electronic music festivals all over the world.
