Evening Hymns

Not an actual band as the name might suggest, but rather the work of one man, Evening Hymns is the singer/songwriter project of Canadian musician, Jonas Bonnetta. Utilizing quietly plucked acoustic guitar and an array of horn, string and key flourishes, Bonnetta creates gentle and beautiful indie folk songs that manage to avoid many of the well-trodden singer/songwriter cliches. His voice is emotive and versatile enough to work well in the hushed as well as the louder moments in his songs, and the occasional accompaniment from commissioned players and backup singers blend in effectively with the overall contemplative mood.
