The members of melodic death metal band Engel have made it their goals to "give the world their propaganda," and they've been doing just that since 2002, when they met in Gothenburg, Sweden. Engel's music walks the line between technique and brutality, displaying fine skill through thrashing guitar and bass riffs. The band's first album, Aboslute Design, was released in 2007 to critical and international acclaim. Although the band's second album, Threnody, was finished in 2008, it was not released until 2010 in Japan and Europe, and not until 2011 in North America due to issues with its former label, SPV GmbH. Engel is now signed with the independent record label Season of Mist.
