Deeming itself "the true voice of melodic death metal," Swedish outfit Cipher System creates a punishing mix of punk and metal sub-genres. Musically, the group can be lumped in with the death/black metal crowd, due to pummeling drums and distorted guitar crunches. Vocally, however, lead signer Carl Obbel's screaming style fits more in the metalcore category. Regardless of how you define them, Cipher System is a sure fire crowd pleaser for fans of Nordic metal.
