Deadlock is a melodic death metal outfit that emerged out of Bavaria, Germany, in 1997. The band released its first LP, The Arrival, in 2002, featuring guest vocalist Sabine Weniger, who became a full-time member by the time Deadlock released its follow-up studio album, Earth. Revolt, in 2005. With her soothing vocals interplaying with lead vocalist Johannes Prem's harsher, gritty style, the group balanced abrasive heavy metal with melodic undercurrents. Though Prem would eventually leave the band in 2011, Deadlock continues to produce new music with founders Sabastian Reichl and Tobias Graf at the helm.
