Le Tigre

Initially formed in New York as the backing band for Bikini Kill founder Kathleen Hanna's side project, Julie Ruin, the riot grrrl trio meshed so well together that they made the band its own official entity - dubbing it Le Tigre. Broadly defined as a band belonging in the electroclash genre, the group's ability to blend electronic and live instrumentation with piercing female vocals has given Le Tigre a distinct and oftentimes rambunctious style, causing the attention of major record labels and listeners to be roused.
