Karp (years active: 1990-1998) was a post hardcore band from Tumwater, Washington that released three fairly acclaimed albums over the course of its eight year career. The band's name is an acronym for "Kill All Redneck Pricks," and was a success primarily for its members' abilities to synthesize various forms of hardcore punk and hard rock into a style that never sacrificed its popular appeal. Although the band's career was relatively off the radar in terms of being recognized by listeners at large, Karp is a post hardcore legend of sorts and a cult favorite for many fans of the genre.
