Land of Talk

Montreal trio Land of Talk was formed by Elizabeth Powell while she attended Canada's Concordia University for its jazz program. Though the band's two other members have been made up of a rotating cast of players, Powell is the primary songwriter and has thus kept the band stable. Creating pro-feminist indie pop-rock with gritty guitars and sweet female vocals, the band grabbed the attention of Saddle Creek Records and began touring with indie darlings Broken Social Scene.
