Body/Head

After the iconic indie rock outfit Sonic Youth went on an indefinite hiatus in 2011, the group's members have all gone their own separate directions. Body/Head finds Sonic Youth's bassist/occasional vocalist Kim Gordon teaming up with free-noise guitarist Bill Nance to create improvised, avant-garde music. Though her previous band was never a commercially successful or radio friendly act, with Body/Head Gordon can be found drifting into extremely experimental territory where sonic collages and tonal excursions are more important that song structure and memorable choruses.
