The Faint is a dance punk band from Omaha, Nebraska, that was formed in 1995. Though the group's sound and lineup was was nearly constantly in flux during its formative years (popular indie singer Conor Oberst was a member at one point), it managed to find a characteristic sound and respectively sized listener base after releasing its critically lauded and commercially successful LP Danse Macabre in 2001. By creating songs that blend dance-friendly rhythms, analog synths and harrowing vocals courtesy of frontman Todd Fink, the group has grown into a staple of its niche scene, attempting to stay as relevant as possible in the ever-evolving modern music community.
