Bottomless Pit is a Chicago-based band that owns an indie rock aesthetic with post punk leanings. Formed in 2005 by ex-Silkworm members Andy Cohen and Tim Midyett, who were later joined by Chris Manfrin and Brian Orchard, the band released its debut LP, Hammer of the Gods, in 2007, and earned critical acclaim for its sparse, understated sound. Bottomless Pit dropped its third studio album Shade Perennial, in 2013.
