Mick Harvey is an Australian singer/songwriter and producer who might best be known for his frequent collaborations with Nick Cave. Growing up in the Melbourne suburbs, Harvey started his own band with fellow classmates Cave, Phill Calvert and Tracey Pew. The group performed at parties and school functions with a repertoire of songs by David Bowie, Roxy Music and Lou Reed. After the juvenile band decided to call it quits in 1975, Harey would go on to serve as guitar player in several groups including The Boys Next Door, The Wallbangers and the Bad Seeds before going ton to launch his solo career with his debut LP, Intoxicated Man, in 1995.
