Hatchet is a thrash metal band that emerged out of San Francisco's metal scene in 2007. The band collected a fan base with two self-released demos before dropping its debut album Awaiting Evil, in 2008 through Metal Blade Records. For the next few years, the band self-funded three cross-country tours of the US, forging a spot for itself among the nation's up and coming metal outfits, earning the respect of fans and other bands alike and unfortunately, seeing its share of lineup changes. With founder Julz Ramos anchoring the band, Hatchet survived its grueling schedule and eventually released its sophomore record, Dawn of the End, via The End Records in 2013.
