Describing its sound as prairie folk, Scenic Route to Alaska consists of three childhood friends who were introduced to music at an early age. It didn't take long for Trevor Mann (vocals and guitar), Murray Wood (bass), and Shea Connor (vocals and drums) to form a band, begin practicing, and tour almost every venue in Edmonton, Canada. After several years of playing covers at local weddings and shows, they finally decided to create the album Scenic Route to Alaska in 2010. With its signature and catchy indie-folk rock sound, the band gained popularity through performing at numerous festivals. Successful gigs and CD sales at Edmonton's S.O.S. Festival and Canmore Folk Music Festivals led the band to release its first full-length album All These Years, in 2012.
