Founded in 1999, the Brisbane, Australia-based alternative metal band managed to distinguish itself with a unique sound that pushed the envelope of what is typically expected from a hard rock band. With avant-garde and experimental sensibilities, the group built a reputation as an act that was willing to venture into sonically uncharted waters with its sound in order to achieve its artistic endgame. Though lead singer Clint Boge left the group in 2012, he eventually returned in 2017 and The Butterfly Effect has since continued to release music and perform regularly.
