Brooklyn-via-Rhode Island duo Javelin is known for its pastiche of vintage funk samples, island jams and 80s bitpop, all stitched together with live drumming and analog electro sounds. The duo's live performances include stage sets made of stacks of neon-painted radios, all of which broadcast Javelin's show live, lending the performance a static-like surround sound. After making its rounds on the blogosphere, Javelin nabbed the attention of the Luaka Bop label, known for its quirky acts, and has since received highly positive press, continuing to win fans by touring around Europe and the US.
